Historian Richard Duffy

Pre-registration is required!

Walking In Arlington is delighted to announce that Richard Duffy will be offering a historical walk "Hidden Gems of the Heights" on Sunday November 8, 2009, at 1pm.

Even veterans of walking tours of the Heights will enjoy many new discoveries, because this section of Arlington has a seemingly endless supply of fascinating historical and architectural aspects. Join local historian, author, and Heights resident Richard A. Duffy as he shares the latest insights from his research and field work. The walk will conclude with refreshments served at one of the most authentic early houses of the 1872 "Arlington Heights" subdivision.

The walk will last approximately 90 minutes. Arlington Heights means "steep climbs on paved surfaces at a moderate pace." The walk is not suitable for children under 12, dogs, or babies in strollers. Pre-registration is a must, as places are limited. The November 1st walk date is fully subscribed, but spaces are still available for the additional November 8th walk. The meeting point will be sent to registered participants.

The group is limited to 20. The cost of the tour is $10 per person.
Reservations are required. Proceeds will go to support the pedestrian advocacy work of Walking in Arlington and the Robbins Library "It Makes Cents Fund" to keep the library open on Sundays.

Please send paid registrations by postal mail by November 1st to Walking In Arlington, 107 George Street, Arlington, MA 02476.Checks can be made out to "Walking In Arlington". Please make sure to include your e-mail address and telephone number with registration.
